Exemplary Employee Award
Francisco Contreras has worked for the City of Westfield since July of 2016, but he is no stranger to the city. He came from Mexico City in 1999 at the age of 13 and has called Westfield his home ever since. He graduated from Westfield High School in 2004 and has now settled with his wife and their daughter in the city that welcomed and helped him grow.
His first role at City Services was at the front desk as a Guest Services Representative, and it was here that his infectious attitude and work ethic were first noticed. Not long after beginning his Guest Services role, he made the transition to Public Works Administrator where he was later promoted to Public Works Administrator/Inspector.
Francisco not only embodies an exemplary employee within the confines of the City Service building, he is also a Reserve Deputy for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and has a devoted passion for volunteering. He works at City Services Monday through Friday and does various security detail jobs on the weekend as a Reserve Deputy. He shows his compassion for this community by volunteering at most of the events hosted by the city, he is even the emcee for Amigos de Westfield and Barktoberfest. His volunteerism isn’t limited to city events alone as he is a Youth Assistance Program mentor and helps out with the Vacation Bible School at Carmel UMC. He never fails to impress with his level of determination and dedication and we are beyond grateful for his selfless desire to serve the community.
It’s with no reservation that we nominate Francisco “Exemplary Employee” for the 2018 Lantern Awards. Francisco embodies qualities that make him an invaluable asset and we are truly thankful to have him on our team.
